From order to first login
- Order a Frankfurt server and choose GitLab CE on the Apps tab — or use the button on this page, which preselects it and a plan that fits.
- The server starts in about a minute; GitLab takes 15–35 minutes to finish setting itself up.
- Open the address from
/root/APP-INFO.txt. - Sign in as
rootwith the password from/root/APP-INFO.txt.
Logging in
The app's own login details are in /root/APP-INFO.txt and are printed when you log in over SSH as root with your server's root password.
The app password is your server's root password when it meets the app's password rules, otherwise a generated one — always written in /root/APP-INFO.txt.
For the first minutes the browser can warn about a self-signed certificate — that's normal until the free certificate is issued (it is retried every 15 minutes).
Use your own domain
- Point your domain's A record to the server's IP address.
- Wait until the domain resolves to that IP.
- Log in over SSH and run
nexoran-app-domain example.com(with your domain). A certificate is issued for it automatically.
Questions
The address doesn't open yet.
Give it the full setup time after the server is running, then check
/root/APP-INFO.txt. Still nothing 45 minutes after the start? Open a ticket.I can't see this app on the order page.
The plan you picked is smaller than the app's minimum. Choose a bigger Frankfurt plan and the app appears on the Apps tab.
Which plan should I choose?
GitLab needs at least 4 GB RAM and 40 GB disk; 4 vCPU are recommended for a team, which is why we suggest s1.large.
